Do Me a Favor –

Leave a comment, would ya? I’m not entirely convinced I’ve set up my comments correctly so that anyone can leave a comment. If you can’t leave a comment, drop me an e-mail and let me know. Thanks.

Nice place ya got here. I miss the planetary theme, but I’ll wait and see what you come up with.

One quibble: your current template has the bug found in a lot of current blog templates. I’m used to using my spacebar to advance down a page, but I have to use the scrollbar or mouse wheel, or the PageDown button. (I’m using IE6 on XP Home, haven’t upgraded to SP2).

No biggie if this doesn’t get fixed — just a data point for you.

  5. Karl says:

  6. Carol says:

    Comment comment comment comment.

Wait, you didn’t want comments with substance, didja John?

(Though I’ve never provided one before – why should I start now?)

  7. Boo.

  8. Paul says:

Again, this is virtually impossible to read against that background.

  9. Dave Schaefer says:

John Scalzi, you are “teh cool”.

  10. marrije says:

So, are we going to get any thoughts on The Debate from you, or are you going to pass? Not that I’d mind you passing, but the suspense is killing me…

  11. Aaron says:

This works. (Posted through the page-view window of SharpReader, an RSS utility.)

  12. Carl Caputo says:

Using Safari 1.2.3 on an iMac running Mac OS 10.3.5, commenting to test John Scalzi’s new Whatever, how we doin’?

Seems to be working. Life is grand when things work out right, isn’t it? Now go eat an apple and get the bloody aDSL set up, buckaroo.

  19. Ryan Bayne says:

Seems to be working for all these people above…

  20. Leland Gregory says:

Ah splendid…poking at the same big pile of stool with a stick, eh monkey? Now it looks like a flower! Now it looks like Jupiter! Cretin.

  21. FYI – The background image you’re using today (10/5/2004) makes it impossible to read the text on the right-hand side of the screen. Also the names of commenters are in a color which makes them almost illegible.

Glad to see you back in business, though.

  22. John Scalzi says:

Yeah, today I’ll be fiddling with colors and etc.

  23. Vardibidian says:

I suspect you’ve got all the comments you need, now, but I’m always happy to procrast… er … help.

  24. Steve Leigh says:

FWIW — I can’t read the comments at all, and had to highlight the text on the comment boxes to see what they were asking me to input (I suppose I could have done the same with the comments to read ‘em, but that just seems silly). You have black text on an essentially black background (except for the few bits that show up against the sunset sky.) Don’t know if anyone’s already mentioned this, ’cause I can’t read it… :-)

I’m on a Mac, using OS 10.3.5, with Safari as the browser.

  25. ErinMH says:

I’m with Steve Leigh on this one — the sunset background doesn’t work for the comments, no matter how great it looks on the main page. Can’t read most of them.

Oh, and I’m running a Mac G4, OS 10.3.5, Safari.

  26. Just making sure I can still jump in…

  27. Julia says:
