Spring Look

Times change, people change, the look of the Whatever changes. The Whatever is now sporting spring-like colors (or early spring-like colors, in any event), and I’ve also changed the photostrip and the body  font. Feel free, of course, to comment and/or complain.

The photo of Ghlaghghee is an appropriate image. In fact, I’m quite certain Ghlaghghee resting in a bathroom basin trumps Punxsutawney Phil and his quaint shadow gazing activities.

  2. why do cats do that?

It temps me to much and I hate it.

  3. What in the holy hell is that thing floating in the weeds? Some kind of alien lobster crustacean invader organism? Certainly adds an ewwww factor to the otherwise sunny sidebar!

  4. Gabe says:

    How do you pronounce Ghlaghghee?

  5. Jon says:

    “Fluffie”

  6. Chang says:

I like the new look. And you even put in the traditional Ohio Spring Crawfish!

Ahh, the seasons and the site may change, but RSS remains the same…

  8. WaywardSailorGirl says:

Huh? My “Whatever” hangs onto its old winter coat with an ice cold grip. I’m still seeing images of snow, frost and a daughter bundled in Russian-like clothing.

  9. John Scalzi says:

reload the page a couple of times. Your cache will take the hint.

  10. Brennan says:

Or hit control-refresh, which should make the page reload whatever might be in the cache.

  11. WaywardSailorGirl says:

Sure enough…Spring Theme now in place.

I agree, what in the H3LL is the thing in the puddle? We have nothing like that in the puddles of Western Washington…

  12. Dane says:

The thing floating in the weeds is a very juicy looking crawdad. They’re sometimes also called crayfish. I have even heard them called mudbugs (which, oddly, is not actually meant derisively).

Believe me- lime salt, cayenne, and beer make them look a whole lot better.

  13. Dave says:

John, um…you may wish you call a plumber-your sink seems to be flowing undiluted cat, which has been known to cause damage to furniture, create an odd smell, and utterly clog drains. My International Plumbing Code handbook states that household water is supposed to be no more than 12% cat-you clearly have an excess.

  14. Wan Zafran says:

    Everything’s so bright and springy!

Man, I feel like frolicking about and rolling in the meadows. I think I see bunnies hopping around next to my computer screen. Oh look, a rainbow!

  15. Not that this is the base case, but just so you know: I first saw the new Whatever design on my blackberry. It came out as black text on a navy blue background – YUK!

I disabled web style sheets (appropriate on the blackberry, trust me…) and now it’s back to black text on a white background (with no sign of your changes).

On the good ol’ PC, though, it look great…

Someone has probably already pointed this out, but this website seemed appropriate:

    Lovely colors, by the way.
