Snow is Coming

Clearly Mother Nature believes not in the concept of tidy demarcations between seasons. The heaviest snowfall we had in the winter was actually in the late fall; now on the second day of spring we’re expecting up to six inches to fall sometime during the night. I’m expecting to wake up to a blanket of white and a snow day for Athena (she won’t mind). Personally I wish Mother Nature had gotten the memo: Spring, damn it.

  1. Sadly, it looks like my son will have school anyway. We’re only predicted for one inch tomorrow.

Isn’t often you folks down south get more than we do up near the lake.

  2. We should just swap seasons: our weather is pretending it’s still summer. This goes to my head and when people ask about the effects of Cyclone Larry I don’t point out how far south I live, I say “Yes, we have no bananas.” Which we don’t. Because of Larry. Which is not the point. The point is we are into late March and there is not a single autumn leaf in a region famous (locally) for its show of colours.

  3. I would use this moment to gloat about how it’ll be a beautiful day in the low 70s here in Houston, but that would only add another week of 95 and humid to a summer that will begin in May and end in October, with no respite.

So instead, I’ll say that I like the new pictures on the sidebar.

  5. Don’t worry too much, the storm was a real let down when it went through Denver. Ooooh 2′ of snow on the way, stay up late and drink because work will be cancelled they said. 2″ instead and a very long work day ensued.

  7. They predicted 6″ – 9″ up here in Indy. Right now, we’re looking at maybe 2″. It hit right at the morning rush hour though, ouch.
