Alison Jackson did a great talk at the TED conference a few years ago talking about her pop-culture-based, paparazzi-inspired photography, and how she was ridiculed on one side and complimented on the other, and really the ridicule of misportraying celebrity was the best press she could get (this is off-topic now, sorry about that...but here's the link: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/210).
