E-Mail Down

Note: my GMail account, through which I route my mail these days, has been down for a couple of hours. I understand I’m not the only one with this problem. If you’ve sent me e-mail since about four or so, I haven’t seen it. I will respond once Google rights itself.

If you are getting a Temporary Error (502), I had that for about an hour today. It cleared up around 6:30 pm Eastern time, immediately after I sent Google an email reporting the problem from a yahoo account I have, although I am sure that was coincidental.

    Damn frustrating, though.

I’m back up now, so maybe you are, too.

What’s the world coming to when a Hugo-award winning author’s gmail goes kablooie?
    Madness, I say.

  4. Mine is going in and out too, but only for one of my Gmail accounts (I have several). I’m thinking that only some of their servers are affected.

  5. Jeff C. says:

Mine was out for a while as well, but back up at approx. 6:30PM Est. as Tom said.

  6. Chris says:

It’s all that Hugo awesomeness crashing gmail.

  7. Rembrant says:

I suspect that the cause of this issue was the flood of congratulatory emails sent to one Mr Scalzi.

  8. Greg says:

My gmail was screwed up, too, the bastards, right before I was about to send a screenplay submission. Had to send it through my yahoo account instead.

I wish google had customer service. Even just a phone number that you could call.

  9. Bryan Price says:

It’s been up and running for me all day. I must be one of the lucky ones….

  10. John Lenahan says:

Your not the only one my gmail is down too.

Congrat’s on that big pointy thing you won.
