And Now This Important News Bulletin

Published by John Scalzi at 10:50 pm

I’m back in Ohio. Alive, even!

That is all. More forthcoming, after sleep and appropriate time to catch up with real life.

You’ll be back on a plane out West by morning once you start jonesin’ for Double-Doubles.

Gee Johnny! I’m so glad you’re alive! Who else would I use this green ink on?

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for making signed books available through the local book shop. I ordered some as Christmas gifts and they arrived today. They look great and I’m sure the signature will be a great surprise.

    MISS THE DOUBLE-DOUBLES!!!

  7. Emmyon 02 Dec 2008 at 12:54 am

    Yay! Cold and snow!!

Thinking I’d have stayed in the Land of Double Doubles for the winter.

Or not. Things might go pear-shaped.

Welcome home to this marvelous state of early voting and cold snowiness =)

    I WENT BACK TO OHIO
    BUT MY PRETTY COUNTRYSIDE
HAD BEEN PAVED DOWN THE MIDDLE
BY A GOVERNMENT THAT HAD NO PRIDE

Welcome home to you and your arteries.

I await with interest the traditional “Sorry I’m behind on my e-mail” message. I believe it has its roots in some kind of ancient pagan mid-winter festival.

I’m certainly glad you’re alive. I was worried when I saw Something Positive today. But I can’t believe you’d leave poor Wil to fend for himself against the Catgirls of Kawaii.

Links, provided solely for entertainment purposes and with many, many warnings to those unfamiliar with Something Positive that it started as a comic meant to offend everyone on earth and it’s been going strong since then.

    The comic I’m talking about:

The start of the story sub-arc I’m talking about:

Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they’re turned around. Who’d have thought they’d lead ya here where we need ya?

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we’ve hot him on the spot, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Alive? Ok, we have a little history here so I think I can trust you on that one, but it would be just like Zombie Scalzi to claim to be alive…

  14. hugh57on 02 Dec 2008 at 7:32 am

What is this “real life” you speak of?

  15. Steve Buchheiton 02 Dec 2008 at 7:58 am

I’m with hugh57. I have no idea what this “real life” thing is.

With John Scalzi home safely, us folks in Ohio can sleep just a bit easier tonight.

I always worry he’ll try to escape.

I’m not going to believe it until I see a video of you holding today’s paper.

  19. milieuon 02 Dec 2008 at 11:40 am

Damn! I am never going to win any money on the predictions markets.

Has anyone else noticed that Whatever seems to have devolved into a massively popular twitter feed?

  23. John Scalzion 02 Dec 2008 at 1:27 pm

This is what happens when I travel, Patrick (or just get back from traveling).

I just wanted to thank you again for being such a great GOH. Your flying back East is California’s loss and Ohio’s gain.
