   Jesse Cook also has a good cover but nothing beats the original.

   Nothing’s better than when Neil Finn turns the mic out on the crowd at the concert though and the audience sings it. ;) I sang my at the top of my lungs. One of my favorite songs.

   That was my favorite part of the concert.

   This cover is good though, I’ll give it that.

   I was lucky enough to see Crowded House at Homebake in Sydney in December. Fall At Your Feet was just one of a shirtload of memorable songs performed by the House.

   Clare Bowditch is another of those totally rockin’ Aussie chicks who you don’t mind covering the classics. Sarah Blasko’s cover of Cold Chisel’s Flame Trees is another good one.

   Darn, I’d forgotten. The Clare Bowditch cover is from a tribute album called She Will Have Her Way: The Songs Of Tim And Neil Finn and also includes covers from Sarah Blasko, Missy Higgins, Little Birdy, Natalie Imbruglia and more… Good album.

   Gorgeous — but I generally approve of your taste in music, so I’m not surprised. :)

   I saw Crowded House here in Nashville at the Ryman — one of the most uncomfortable, acoustically perfect venues in the world. Three hours of amazing.

   Heh. In case it’s not clear, I prefer the original of this to this particular cover, although there are some acoustic concert versions by Neil Finn that I like as much as the original.

   That said, I’ve noticed that this song in particular has a lot of half-baked cover interpretations, largely because whoever’s covering it really blows the phrasing while singing. This is a song where hit the right emotional notes while singing is as important as hitting the right musical notes, and it amazes me that people who like this song enough to cover it can miss that.

   I like this cover because Bowditch a) plays with the song to make it different from the original, and b) still hits all the right emotional notes.

   Very nice. I don’t know the original so this is a new song to me.

   Most of the music you post on Whatever isn’t my thing. Every once in a while though, you post something that I really like and would never have heard otherwise.

   I’m still listening to Regina Spektor thanks to this website.
