A little late, but... I saw this on the blog, read the linked excerpt, was immediately blown away by the dreamy grace of the writing, bought the book, just started it and love it so far.

I hardly ever buy YA and I really don't like zombies, but damn if I could turn this down.

Anyway, yay! for excerpts and yay! for the Big Idea both.

I wanted to come by and say that the title alone of this novel made me want to go and buy it. But the entire concept made it non-optional!

I picked up the book yesterday and am now about halfway through it. Enjoying it very much. John, thanks for spreading the word about this book to your readers!

I'm a few chapters in, and I'm hooked. Excellent book, Carrie. Reminds quite a bit (in tone and pace) of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins which I think is the new standard for YA SciFi/Fantasy. So far, I would rank Forest of Hands and Teeth up there with that one.

The video trailer was enticing. It also lead me to the trailer for The Book Thief, which sounds fantastic as well. I'll have to turn my sons onto these trailers, and see if they spark their interest.
