Hi John,
This is my first time voting for the Hugo and the compiled packet is a godsent! I would have had a rough time getting all the material togather.
As it is, I am still not sure where to get Banana Wings - any suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated.
(ps, LOVED Joe's Tale :) )

Hello, Wendy! Grand to hear from your sweet self again! We've been reliving some of our UNC-G laughs in private e-mail. (Don't worry, it'll stay private.) Let's see, that was 1973. Gee, almost five years ago. KEEP IN TOUCH!

Thanks for the update!
I'm like MasterThief @10 more than halfway through the package. Which does't make some voting decisions any easier... (just thinking of the Novels section)

(And John: It's my first time to vote for the Hugos and Your efforts to give us most of the works for consoderation is a big help and joy at the same time)

Guy H. Lillian III? No...it can't be...or is it???

Went to UNC-Greensboro many, many years ago (ok, '73-74-ish) and knew (and occassionally dated) a Guy Lillian that was a grad student and doing fanzines back then.

Printed them on mimeo machines... hmmmm...mimeo ink...helped him get a few editions out. Hung out at the student publication offices with the rest of us geeks a good bit too.

Amazingly small world if it is one and the same and I've run across him on Whatever!

Hi Guy! Good Luck!!

I got it specifically for the mobi version of _The Graveyard Book_, but it seems to have some kind of DRM on it. Does anyone know the PID for unlocking the DRM? Or another way to read it without that?

Woohoo! Been working my way up from the short stories and novelettes, taking a side detour into the semi-pro zines right now. I'll be done by voting time, I promise!

Incidentally, this is why I less than three the booklet-making function on our photocopier at work. Conviently metro-sized reading.

I'll have to grab the new one. I've got a lot of reading ahead of me. (Though I've read all the novels already.)

The novel category is amazingly strong this year.

I don't know what to do about the graphic novels. I've only read one and don't feel comfortable voting without having read at least most of the entries.

But yeah, this is an amazingly good deal from a pure monetary standpoint. Five ebook novels alone would run you more than $50 and these are the ones considered best of the year. (Though I personally already bought and paid for 4 of the 5. Poor Charlie Stross loses out to my procrastination and fears of wifely mockery at the cover.)
