That is beautiful. Mine was lilac colored, but I didn’t get a picture.

  2. Brian C says:

Sigh, I wish..Grey and rain turning to snow here in the Northwest corner..

  3. konarosemary says:

Judging by the sound of thunder up the mountain it will be pretty wet.

  4. christy says:

Mine was covered by trees, but the rest of the sky was lovely as in your photo, so I’ll just insert this one into my overall memory…just….so……there! :)

  5. TomG says:

Very beautiful. I really wish some of your landscape pictures were sized to be usable as wallpaper….ah well.

  6. domynoe says:

    Pretty!

Btw, would you ever wear Bacon Cologne? Saw this in Slashfood and thought of you. lol

  7. CeliaHayes says:

I’m in Texas – the sunsets are always spectacular when clouds are involved. Sunrises are pretty cool, also – purple clouds with gold edging, and a peach-colored sky — Very technicolor.

  8. John Scalzi says:

    Tom G:

    Go here.

  9. Nick Reinartz says:

Never thought I would say this but I could use a sunset like that out here in Hawaii… We have flash floods expected the rest of the week….

  10. cisco velarde says:

I have to say that Ohio sunsets are right on par with new mexico sunsets

  11. No, sunset here in Illinois today was nothing special. But yours is definitely worth writing home about.

  12. Nox says:

It was sunny yesterday here in Santa Cruz. But now its cloudy. What’s the temperature like in Ohio right now?

  13. Bianca says:

Nice pic.The sunset was awesome, first time I’ve seen it since like last week… Where I’m at, the temp went from 60 to 83 in three days. And it’s sure to flip flop within the next three days. Gotta love the midwest.

  14. O Henry says:

They don’t let me out to see the sunset very often. Sigh.

  15. Nancy C says:

I love seeing these…. but looking at the link to the many beautiful sunsets i’m wondering – do you ever see the sunrise? Or would you say, as a clever Scottish friend of mine said, “It’s only 5:00 once a day at my house!”

  16. TomG says:

Thanks much for the link to all the sunsets! Didn’t take me long to figure out how to download an appropriate size.

  17. Nick says:

Oooh, crepuscular light! I see a lot of beautiful sunsets on my way home from work this time of year, but I never get the chace to photograph them because I’m not allowed to even have a camera in my car at work (due to some rather pointless security rules) and there’s no view of the horizon from my house.

  18. Zeynep says:

This is one of those pictures that elicit a quiet involuntary “….oh.” from me.

(Also, I do need a wide-angle lens, don’t I? Yes I do. Don’t talk me out of my consumerism, please.)

  19. Theophylact says:

With a shutdown of the Federal government looming, no sunset looks good to a civil servant like me.

  20. gilmoure says:

Here’s mine, from the 5th: Sunset over the Sandia Mountains.

This is the place where you leave the things you think
