Hey Folks: Public Appearance Next Tuesday at Lehigh University

If you happen to live in or around the fine town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, then next Tuesday you will have an opportunity to see me, as I am doing a public event at Lehigh University, from 4 to 5:30 pm, at the Linderman Library. I will be doing a reading, answering questions and basically talking about the life of a writer/blogger/evil genius BWA HA HA HAH HA here in the early 21st Century. It should be a lot of fun. Why don’t you come ’round?

Comments

  1. I live about 30 minutes from Bethlehem! But… nah, that couldn’t be possible, could it? That I could actually, possibly meet John Scalzi? :-O

  2. wdonohue says:

You might want to let Mr. George Hrab know you’ll be in town, he & @MsInformation are just over the river in downtown Bethlehem. (Or mayhap you were already aware, and this post is redundant…)

  3. gottacook says:

I’m from Bethlehem originally and attended a talk by Isaac Asimov in 1971-72 at the exact same venue, when I was 15 or so. During question time I asked him whether entropy could be reversed; sadly I don’t recall the reply. (I did get his autograph, however, in my SF Book Club edition of The Foundation Trilogy – which I find unreadable these days, but it was the only Asimov I owned then.)

I’m incredibly saddened that this is my Alma Mater and not my current location. It was momentarily confusing seeing the school shield on Whatever…Lehigh, you just got a little bit more awesome.

  5. Tom says:

I’m about an hour away as I type, but on Tuesday, I will be in Kansas City (the MO part, primarily). That’s unfortunate. I may have to bug my wife into trying to attend. (She enjoys whatever and books as well)

  6. Marc Moskowitz says:

I have spent a lot of nights and mornings in Bethlehem because it (and more specifically, the Holiday Inn Express with the sneaky stairway to the world’s northernmost Waffle House) is our traditional first night stop on road trips from Boston to our families in the South. No offense intended to the many awesome-looking attractions in Bethlehem itself. So I’ll be there soonish, but not soon enough.

  7. I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

  8. Elektra says:

    Sounds like fun. I think I just might . . .

  9. Hrm. Here is where I officially regret purchasing all your books in e-book format. Live in Allentown, and actually have Tuesday free.

  10. I’ll be there! Yay! Child in tow, as he has the day off from school. But that’s fine — he’ll be coming along to Boskone next year, too.

  11. Justin P. Miller says:

Why that’s only three hours east of here. A chance to meet John Scalzi in person you say? I might just have to take off work at noon!

  12. Caladan says:

Oh, well. I’m working on Tuesday, otherwise I would bring my OMW hardcover for you to sign.

  13. Carmen says:

Dude, you’re killing me. I have to work that night but maybe I can blackmail my boss into giving me the day off.

  14. jasonmitchell says:

please oh please do a creation museum tour slideshow and invite Prof. Behe to attend

  15. *sigh* And life intervened. Hope everyone who went had a great time.

  16. TopShelf says:

The northernmost Waffle House is NOT in Clark’s Summit, Pa. The northernmost Waffle House is off I-90 in Austinburg, Ohio (near Ashtabula).

This is the place where you leave the things you think
