Seems like a good day for one.
Update: Here’s a slightly more faithful to reality version.
That’s a very nice sundog.
Ahhh… Sun dog
There’s no mention of JJ Abram’s Star Trek in that link… kind of weird.
Well hell, when you said “sun dog” I was expecting to see a picture of Daisy basking in the sunlight.
Here’s some Robert Frost to go with it:
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Also sadly apropos for today in the USA.
A picture, a poem, and a new phrase learned.
I’m guessing that’s as soothing as anything at the end of a day like today could be.
Hug your dog today. (Woof.)
I like the second version, but I would have blackened the bright line in the lower right corner.
John, if you don’t already know about them, you might be interested in “Sunsets, Twilights, and Evening Skies” by Aden and Marjorie Meinel and “Rainbows, Halos, and Glories” by R. Grennler. Both are classics in the field.
