Bye Bye 2004

2004: It’s all a blur now.
Actually, it’s not. Certainly a very strange year, although one that in many ways was very good for me personally. Having said that, I’m happy to let it go, and happy to move forward into 2005.
See you all on the other side.
Kewl image. Try flipping it horizontally and see how drastically the effect changes.
Hubby and I spent our First Hours in a carefully chosen world of fictional comedy and mayhem.
I’ve got 4 words for you : Shaun of the Dead. Get it, watch it, love it! It’s the most perfect mixture of buddy comedy, relationship exploration drama and zombie action I’ve seen in ages.
As a vehicle within which to enter the new year – metaphorically, it’s got it all. There’s the angst-ridden dissolution and subsequent recomittment to family and friends, the loss and redemtion sequence of the characters’ battles with the ever-growing hoard of “the mobile dead” and of course the poignant symbolism of returning to life anew after having been consumed in the previous one.
Add a few bottles of Hornsby’s Hard Cider (filled in around the edges with Crunch-N-Munch and corn chips with salsa con queso) and that, my friend, makes for a stunning entrance into 2005.
I feel much better than I did last year. *belch*
I’m sorry, Shaun. No, I’m sorry, Shaun!
I’ll stop doing it when you stop laughing.
