10 Years

Ten years ago today Krissy and I were married. There has not been a day in the 3,652 that have followed when I have failed to tell her that I love her. I can’t imagine there will be a single day in the rest of our lives when I would.

Today, I would consider it your anniversary gift to us if you would tell someone that you love that you love them. My gift to you is the wish that you find joy in your life that matches the joy my marriage has given me. I can’t imagine a better exchange of gifts.

  1. Congratulations John and Krissy! I’m looking forward to the announcement of your 50th anniversary to be beamed wirelessly to my newschip implant as I lie waiting for my new knees to be cultured into place.

  2. Consider your gift exchanged – hubs and I shared Sonic ice cream treats tonight as part of our ongoing practice of spending as much time together as possible that is just for us to enjoy being around each other. And nothing says “I love you” like sitting in companionable silence slurping ice cream at the end of a long day. But I’ll make sure and say it out loud, just to cover my bets. :-)

PS – I wanna know where Krissy gets her anti-aging potions. She looks the same today as she did then (and you haven’t changed much either, come to think of it, aside from a little missing hair. Hmmm…something in the water out there in the boonies, maybe?)

And what a gorgeous dress! Sigh…

  3. A little missing hair!

I concur about Krissy, however. She’s as heart-stoppingly gorgeous today as when I met her. And as I like to point out frequently, her heart-stopping gorgeousness is still the least interesting thing about her.

  4. I’m not trying to downplay the content here, and I did get you an anniversary present (by which I mean I told my girlfriend I loved her earlier today), but my first and overriding thought when I saw this was:

    “Dude, you’ve got HAIR!”

I feel kind of bad about that.

  5. Happy Anniversary!

Holy crap, I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already! Of course, I didn’t need to be reminded of the date, as I have it engraved on a lava lamp which is always prominently displayed in my living room (when I have a living room, that is.)

Krissy is still gorgeous, and you’re still about the luckiest guy I know. I’m coming to Ohio to learn the secret.

  6. “Dude, you’ve got HAIR!”

Don’t feel too bad, Ian. He’s got Athena now, which sort of evens things out. Trust me, the math works out.

  7. Congratulations! My husband and I just celebrated our 13th anniversary and I can guarantee there’s never been a day when we haven’t said “I love you” to each other. When it’s the right person, it’s the sort of thing you can never possibly express enough, because there’s just no words to express it properly.

  8. FWIW, I think you look better in more recent pictures than you do in that photo.

Krissy, as everyone has pointed out, looks just as good now as then.

  9. That’s cool, congratulations! And I love your gift exchange idea, I will make sure I give that message to somebody by the end of today.

Oh and by the way, I saved your “agent to the stars” link awhile back and recently got around to reading it. It was really neat, I enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing, and may you and your wife enjoy many more decades together.

  10. Hey, Happy Anniversary! And many, many more to come!

    Ya damn lucky bastid.

I will tell my cats that I love them, just like every day.

  11. I would consider it your anniversary gift to us if you would tell someone that you love that you love them.

    Done.

  12. I would consider it your anniversary gift to us if you would tell someone that you love that you love them.

    Done.

  13. Congratulations and happy anniversary! Consider your gift exchanged indeed. Becky and I have been together for nine years, married for five as of this coming September. So wonderful, as you know, to have found the perfect counterpart to share life and love.
