Amount of time it takes from the moment you mail out an acceptance note to the moment a post declaring the news hits LiveJournal: roughly 30 minutes. Or thereabouts.
Or, ahem, never. ; )
Congratulations to your contributors!
Yes, I suppose it depends on the person.
I wasn’t sitting by my computer constantly checking my mail. I swear. It was just a coincidence that I happened to be there when it arrived. Honestly! My only defence is that it’s my first sale. :)
Would be fun to see your scorecard for the issue: X acceptances, X secondary announcements. That’s really an unexpected thing for me about personal blogs: welcome and delightful promotion which has that benefit of sincerity and diverse reach. It’s certainly brought a lot of periodicals to my attention that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise.
No need to defend, Ann. I’m glad you’re excited!
But who can blame them?
Besides, rejection in this case takes about eighteen hours.
Blush.
Ann & I were on the phone about it about 30 seconds afterward, too.
Hey, thanks for not holding a grudge about me calling you Patrick Nielsen Hayden… ;)
Ha! No, I wouldn’t hold it against you. But I plan on teasing you with it for the rest of your career.
I’m laughing really hard right now because I know both of those people! And if I hadn’t gotten their e-mails too, I might not have known about their good news…
