Testing Something

Just checking to see if I can embed video. This entry may or may not disappear almost immediately after it gets posted.

Seems to work!

  1. Works fine here. Funny, too.

For the record, I wouldn’t do it with a bunch of guys for a flying car.

  2. Works for me too, alhtough the performance isn’t great (could be my wireless connection).

Check out Google Video – they have a code snippet that lets you embed their stuff. Here’s my experiment (complete with some light squirrel torture for your viewing pleasure…)

  3. firefox on mac OS X…video worked fine.

I think I would have to have some sort of garantee that the I would be the only one with the flying car and that the government would let me fly it like I wanted.

But this is stupid why not just buy a sea plane.

  4. Just how much time did you spend in Masschusetts, anyway? Long enough to get a limp and a flying car? ;-P

  5. The two guys in the audio are the actors who played Randal & Dante in CLERKS, but the audio is not from the movie. It was a short video that aired on The Tonight Show, if I remember right.

  6. Doesn’t come on where I am reading at the moment. It is a Win98SE system using Mozilla 1.7.12. It could just be age of the system or the lack of a particular plugin.

There is just a blank white square where the video is supposed to appear.

  7. Blank white player for me too, but I think YouTube may be offline at the moment.

John broke YouTube! For shame! :)

  8. Latest version of Tiger and Safari on a G5 iMac. Blank white box for me too. Try using an H.264 code, it looks better and is more compatible.

  10. Okay, I won’t post that I’m also getting the blank white square, since that phenomenon looks pretty well documented at this point.

  12. I got a white aquare for a while… but eventually it loaded. Funny too.

    I thought I knew you man…

    *grin*

On that note, I’ve just joined the comedy sketch team Monkey Rampant. So I should know from funny.

  14. I gave up when they got to the hacksaw part. I might be willing to do the clean surgical procedure to get my car, but that’s where I draw the line!

  16. Very very funny. And it works perfectly fine over on my side (OS 10.4.5 using firefox), though by this point it’s probably been established that it works.

    “Is the video from Gravitation?”

No, it’s from an anime called Yami no Matsuei.

  17. The audio isn’t from Clerks, per say. It’s from a little short that Kevin Smith used for The Tonight Show with Leno with the same actors that played Randal and Dante.

  19. I wonder if that clip was a scene from the upcoming Clerks sequel.

    Randal: Schasm?

I would love, love, love the flying car, but I wouldn’t trade my foot for it. Maaaybe I’d go under the anesthetic and whatever happens in the meantime happens, as long as I never find out.

So, John, now that you know you can embed video, what can we expect to see?
