Yeah, I’m having too much fun with this.

  1. It’s not futile; being able to solve a Rubik’s cube makes me a hit at parties, especially with the ladies. Well anyway he used to be lady, apparently, before the operation. Nevermind, you win this round.

  2. With the inclusion of these two “motivational” pictures alongside the ones from the previous post, I can only say this: You crack me up, John.

  3. My favorite picture of the pro ones taken (earlier post):

    Very sexy.

John, please consider coming to Confluence this summer. We’re going to have a good crew–a good many of your friends will be there.

About 40 SF writing teens show up–it’s a very different kind of conference than you may be used to. You’d fit right in since you are 37 going on 20. (Babysitting is available.)

My son, when he was your daughter’s age, took a Rubic’s Cube in another room for a few seconds and came back with it all finished perfectly. We later found out he’d peeled all the stickers off and relocated them.

I read Ben Bova’s articles in the Naples Daily News, too. That one was hysterical. I loved the slang term “Q-tips” — the white haired people, all in a row, at chamber music recitals. He’s missing so much. We need to educate him about music!

    I’ll be in Kansas for this year’s Campbell Conference, July 6 – 9, 2006 – http://www.ku.edu/~sfcenter/campbell-conference.htm
I’ll be thinking about your invitation for next year–you rock!

So much for commenting on the proper post!

  4. I love that song. I’m listening to it now. It took real effort for me not to put “We’re not unreasonable. I mean’s no one’s gonna eat your eyes” on the poster.

  5. I stumbled across your site. I love the futility one. i’ve forwarded it a bit, well “liberally”! :)
