What I Suspect Will Be the Last of These for 2006

Rain storm last night. Wind storm right now. Snow storm on its way. But we did have a nice rainbow this morning, so there’s that.
More work to do. Off to do it.
Weather takes on a whole new meaning when you’re in charge of the Streets Department in your municipality. When I saw that photo I said to myself, “snow is coming.” Down one guy (we only have two), and both our trucks are breaking (tried to replace one, now the other needs a new transmission, looking at just buying a brand new one, two months delivery time). Yippie.

I take it this means you’ve finished whatever it was you were supposed to be writing yesterday.
Up here in NEOhio, we got wind strong enough to blow a minivan over, and sunlight bright enough to require sunglasses. What month is it again?

Nope, still writing it. I’m done updating for today.
It was in the 70s here in Kansas on Tuesday. It iced all day Wednesday, and dropped a foot of snow yesterday. Gotta love midwestern weather.
Enjoy the coming snow, John!
Lovely shot. I like the tiny streak of rainbow right up in the corner. Did it actually fade out in the middle like that, or is that just how it’s showing up on camera?
This wind really is something though, isn’t it? On my way into lunch, I saw one of my professors nearly get blown off the walk. I’ve got a friend from Vagas who still hasn’t really worked out that December is coat weather. His walk back from the dining hall must’ve been just a barrel of fun.
Up here in the frozen north we’ve had snow on the ground for a couple of weeks now. Last night the temperature was -28C but the wind chill pushed that down to -40C. Maybe I’ll think about moving to Ohio now…
here in Northeast NJ, it was so warm and muggy that I had to actually use my air conditioning to sleep comfortably last night. The heat hasn’t kicked on in more than a week, and if this continues I may regret having winterized my pool in September.
I’m in the Chicago suburbs and we’ve gotten 8-10 inches since last night. My normal 1 hr commute was nearly quadrupled this morning. The plow is broken to clean out our lot so everyone triple parked. Supposedly pizza is on the way, but due to the weather it has been delayed 1.5 hrs. So much for 30 minutes or less.
On the bright side everything looks white and pretty.

Can I bring my kids to just play on your lawn and roll around and run around? Really, we won’t bother you. Go ahead and write. You won’t even know we are there. Snow? Rainstorms? No problem. We (I) miss them. The kids need to play in piles of fresh unadulterated snow. Anything to get them out of my barely yarded, too cramped, urban house in the rainy, cold northwest.
Better yet, can I just ship them to you and go back to bed? No? Can I pay Athena to watch them? Just make sure they don’t go out in the street and they’ll be fine in that yard for hours. Expect a Fed ex box to arrive shortly.
