I just realized what it is that has you and NG at the top of the SF/F blog list: cool as heck little girls. Someday Maddy Gaiman and Athena will join up and alternately terrify and delight the people of the world with their exploits.
I really need to get my little girl more involved with my blog. =-)
Lucky indeedy. The picture looks almost renaisssance in its coloring. I mean, if they had PS in the Renaissance.
Yes, Photoshop is a boon. Lets you play with colors and tones and also erase mood-dampening space heaters that were inconveniently in frame when you took the picture.
What a beautiful family! Yes, you are very lucky!!
Is it just me, or does Athena look like she’s plotting some evil in that picture?
When Athena plots something evil, she doesn’t give it away with a mere glance.
John – When I stumbled across your blog for the first time a year ago, your emphasis on – and obvious enjoyment of – your family was one of the things that convinced me that I was meeting someone with a worldview that resonates with mine. In other words, even better than *having* a happy family like yours (or mine) is to steadily *appreciate* how good it is to have a happy family. You don’t take it for granted, which can only be a positive reflection on your character. (And yes, that means I’m congratulating myself for the same good character attribute. I do have ample flaws, but failing to appreciate the gift of a happy household ain’t one of them.)
All the best to the Scalzi household from the Walker household in 2007 and beyond! TW
Merry Holidays to the Sclazi House and it’s inhabitants. Thanks for the gifts of your writing and blog in the last year, John.
Merry Christmas, John, Krissy and Athena.
This blog is like a box of chocolates … you never know what you’re going to get. :)
Happy Holidays to everyone.
It’s rather modest of you to chalk it up to pure luck.
