Happy Birthday, Krissy

It’s my wife’s birthday, and so I take the day to reflect, as I often do even when it is not her birthday, how gobsmackingly unlikely it was that a schlub like myself could have ever gotten together with such a gorgeous, smart, fun, good human being such as her. Really, all my friends are still trying to figure that one out. I hope they’ll let me know what they come up with. At the moment, however, I’ll just go with what Cory Doctorow said to me last year, after he met her: “Dude, you are so out of your league.” Oh, I know. I know.
She is a gift and a joy to me, bright and shining, every day of our lives. Today of all days I’d want her, and you, to know that.
Happy Birthday, Krissy!
Happy B-day to your wife. Now I finished your book last night. Two points: 1) I liked the book (I really liked the book) and 2) I’m annoyed. I paid $25 bucks and the damn thing didnt even last me the week. You need to write another book so I can feel satisfied.
Great book by the way.
Happy birthday, Krissy!
Happy Happy, Krissy. Hope it’s a fab day, and we hope your husband gets something in addition to a handmade card for you.
Happy Birthday Krissy!
Happy Birthday, Krissy!

(just in case any of you were wondering if my mother in law actually reads this, see the comment above.)
May you have many many more years together. Happy birthday, Krissy.
Happy birthday, Krissy. Have a spectacular day.
John,
As the late, great Kurt Vonnegut said: “All male writers, incidentally, no matter how broke or otherwise objectionable, have pretty wives. Somebody should look into this.”
Happy Birthday, Krissy.

As a geek who married way out of my league, I would just like to say:
Thank God for great women whose only flaw is eclectic taste in men!
Happy Birthday, Krissy!
Happy Birthday, Krissy!
You’re right, she could have done much better!!!
Happy Birthday to her and continued good luck to you!
Echoing all the well-wishing of others, have a wonderful birthday Krissy!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISSY
John your friend is CORRECT……. you are so out of your depth to be married to such a Classic Beauty….. But then so am I.
Harvey…
Happy Birthday Krissy!
[and many more to come!]
Happy birthday, Krissy!
Some time during the mid years of my marriage (38 years and counting) a friend met my wife and as we parted for the evening put his arm around my shoulders and said “You know, you really overmarried”.
I have heard similar refrains about other men of my acquaintance and now, of course, from John and the other commenters above. If we are smart we will do everything possible to ensure that we don’t screw it up.
An interesting aside, though, I have never heard a woman state that she married above her station or over her head or overmarried.
I have a number of friends who call my wife “Poor Jane (not her real name)” on a regular basis – a sobriquet she earned by putting up with me for 38 years.
So happy birthday to Krissy and congratulations to John – not for having a hot, smart, happening wife, but for understanding what an incredible gift it is to find someone who makes you feel like Krissy does.
Happy Happy!!
Happy B-day! For she’s jolly-good and, uh, swell-o.
Happy Birthday, Krissy!
Wow. Happy Birthday Krissy! I don’t run across too many people who share the same birthday as me (I’m the Big Five-Oh today).
At any rate, it bears repeating: Happy Birthday Krissy! :-)

Yay Krissy! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, to my cousin Krissy! Hello to you, John.
I just happened upon your web page on Krissy’s birthday and thought I would send greetings. I was impressed with your posting–I would say you are both blessed. Take care–love, Lucy
P.S. Beautiful photo of you, Krissy!
Happy Birthday, Krissy! I hope you had a Great Day, and that many many more come filled with ever more joy.
Much thanks for being such a great inspiration to that husband of yours!
As much as we Scalzi-fans like to come here and heap praise (and the occasional snark) on John, I think we all owe a great debt of gratitude to Krissy.
John has made it abundantly clear just how important Krissy is to him and how happy she makes him.
A happy John Scalzi has proved to be a productive John Scalzi. We very much like a productive John Scalzi.
So Krissy, a heartfelt (and selfish) thanks for everything you do for your family. We feel that love all the way out here in the fringes of the web.
Happy Birthday!
