A sampling of the year’s sunsets for you.

And one sunrise:

  1. Damn.
I don’t know why, but when I hear the word “sunset” I think of California and the sun setting over the Pacific. We don’t get anything like that here, though.

  2. I think the last sunset picture is my personal fave. There’s just something freaky scary about it with that whole boiling sky thing.

  3. Yep, I remember those. You missed a great one on July 23rd.

What’s the red light in the dawn picture? Is that downtown Bradford?

  4. the photos are lovely…How do you get the sky to stand still long enough to take these shots? One of these days I am going to take a decent photo….for real…I am….

BTW (pardon the pun) I like this site better and I am going to check out some of the writers you are blogging about.

  5. Very nice. And while I’m complementing, thanks for the Whatever. Nice joint you got here John. Best wishes for the new year, and see you this summer at Armadillocon.

  6. Cassie @4: What’s the red light in the dawn picture? Is that downtown Bradford?
Scalzi @6: Red light: Yes, that’s Bradford.

Gee, I didn’t know Bradford had a downtown, let alone a red light district.

  7. Yes, I agree with chang. I would like to see more photos and hear about The Life and Times of Ghlaghgheehehahohaohalalachoochoo. She is beautiful and although she is not a Ragdoll, she sure looks like one. I own a blue bicolor Ragdoll and soon I will be getting a little seal colorpoint boy who hopefully will grow up as beautiful as she is. I would post a picture, but I don’t think we can here. Or, is there a spot? I’m new so not sure about the etiquette regarding that or your rules about photos. (I’m sure you probably have some Read The Rules place, but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. (I know it’s probably a fascinating bit of writing and I’m eager to read it. No. Really.)

  8. Oooo, I just went and found one spot with cat pictures. Everybody has such beautiful kitty kids.
