One For the Kodi Fans

Here’s Kodi, lost in contemplation about whatever it is large dogs contemplate. I suspect chasing the cats, personally, but you never know.

Re Giacomo@9: Or tape a ruler to her side. That way, we can get a good idea of her size, and you can start a new highway to fame (infamy?).

The Fans of Kodi The Wonder Dog appreciate the photo of such a noble creature as she. I don’t think we give out strange awards, which makes us different from Glaghghee’s posse. We just like the pictures.

O Pandering Scalzi, while it is (barely) acceptable for you to post on subjects unrelated to Magnificent She, haven’t you met your quota for Anteater-Thing pictures for this decade?

And haven’t you poked Teh Intertubes enough for one week? Notice that the lunatics of the Anteater-Thing Appreciation Society have escaped from the asylum and started their bizarre rantings.

Please, won’t you think of the lunatics? Restrain yourself. You know you can do it. The Beauteous Ghlaghghee can show you the way.

Some quotes about dogs

People teach their dogs to sit; it’s a trick. I’ve been sitting my whole life, and a dog has never looked at me as though she thought I was tricky.
Mitch Hedberg

Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog it’s too dark to read.
Groucho Marx

The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.
Andy Rooney

The dog has seldom been successful in pulling man up to its level of sagacity, but man has frequently dragged the dog down to his.
James Thurber

The dog has got more fun out of Man than Man has got out of the dog, for the clearly demonstrable reason that Man is the more laughable of the two animals.
James Thurber

I’ve seen a look in dogs’ eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts.
John Steinbeck

Chasing cats? You underestimate her. She’s most likely pondering the origin of the universe, and calculating the probability (to the 4th decimal place) of her getting a steak anytime soon.

If she’s anything like our Akitas, she’s praying for the rain to roll in, the sun to go down, or preferably both. They’re made of 100% inert fur and bone until the temperature drops below eighty.

Kang doesn’t even bother to get up when we move her out of the way in the kitchen anymore. She just gets slid into a new position like a fuzzy Tetris tile.

Patrick M – You’re getting out of line again. As our host has said, Kodi is an Akita…a breed well known for gently herding giraffes! It is, for that reason, a most popular breed with giraffephiles.

Your thoughtless jape is akin to asking a fat lady what her due-date is.

Something to contemplate:

If you were incapacitated in a burning building, is Kodi large enough to drag you to safety by the collar? Also, does she have some kind of small barrel of rum you could attach to her collar so you would have something to sip on while waiting for the firefighters to arrive?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Kodi is probably contemplating chasing cats alright, just not the ones that live at the Scalzi compound.

Then again, since cats that don’t belong to the compound show up, stay, are not chased, and eventually become members of the household, she may be contemplating what she would do with a giraffe it one in fact showed up. Very accepting of wandering cats is she. (and the occasional Tempdog{TM})

Or, all this speculation is just entertaining me on a lazy Sunday afternoon by the Puget Sound.

Nathan – I only get out of line so I can see how far to the front. What are we in line for anyway?

And ever since someone mentioned Ninja Giraffes, I’ve been afraid to go outside. I mean, there are Giraffes that I can’t even see? **shudders**
