Scalzi & Buckell: On Tour

Not only do Toby Buckell and I have our books coming out on the same day, we’re also doing a bit of a mini-tour together to promote our respective works — starting, as it happens, this very weekend in Ann Arbor. Our appearance details are here. Note that this particular schedule does not note our appearances at the Decatur Book Festival or DragonCon, but both of us will be at these, too, and when I have more details for each, I will fill you folks in here.

  1. John – I had to leave Zoe’s Tale at home so I could get work done at work, ’cause, you know, that’s what they pay me for. (i know…) FYI – I’m loving it!

I’ll see both you and Toby at Books & Co next week!

  2. I’m having a vision of you and Toby doing a real-world re-enactment of Planes, Trains and Automobiles as you travel together.

I’m not sure whether this would be a good or bad thing.

    John: What’s the flight situation?

Toby: Simple. There’s no way on earth we’re going to get out of here tonight. We’d have more luck playing pickup sticks with our butt-cheeks than we will getting a flight out of here before daybreak.

John: I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Toby: Yeah, but by the time the airline cancels this flight, which they will sooner or later, you’d have more of a chance to find a three-legged ballerina than you would a hotel room.

John: Are you saying I could be *stuck* in Ann Arbour?

Toby: I’m saying you *are* stuck in Ann Arbour.

  3. Too true about AA!

Very excited about Saturday, but have a question about the signing. Will you be signing any of your books or only Zoe’s Tale?

    Thanks!

  4. Nice to see you will be making a stop at the Decatur Book Festival on your way through DragonCon. (Or is it the other way around?) I will see if I can stop by your panel.

  5. Will this tour, as all good tours do, have a name? Perhaps something along the lines of The Great Midwestern Scalzibuckelling Adventure?

Also, be careful with Ann Arbor, there are rumors about her compromised morality here at OSU.

  6. Scalzi and Buckell, famous for such mid-70’s lite rock Albums such as “Flowers for Nonalger” and “Tweedledoobie” are together for the first time since the now infamous “Air Supply” incident, forever known as “the Lite Rock Altamont” . . .

  7. 2. JReynolds – you *are* aware that Ann Arbor is just a quick drive up the road for both John and Toby, right?

And Ann Arbor is a lovely town – even for Ohio State fans…

  8. Beav:

No plans for Philadelphia in the immediate future.

Also, in a general sense, where I’ll be is on my Scheduled Appearances page. If it’s not there, I have no current plans to visit (or at the very least, visit in a public-oriented capacity).

  9. Woo hoo! My family and I will definitely come over from Louisville to see you and Toby and Paul in Lexington.
