Good lord man! Your socks! What in gods name is the status of your socks!
Unshod.
That cartoon appears to be signed R.P. This casts doubt on your cartoon writing ability.
He said he wrote it, not drew it. Cartoons are signed by the artist.
Hmm, a little bit of black humor there? Seems pretty funny to me, but critiquing comics isn’t really my cup of tea.
Seriously, though, compared to that last cartoon, this one really seems to be the cream of the crop.
And now we know the origin of “Coffee And Cigarettes.”
I really hate the web filters here at work that prevent me from seeing most images on The Whatever (I think anything hosted on flickr gets blocked).
CTJen:
The cartoon was illustrated by my friend Richard Polt.
I’m guessing the angst is due to the caffeine content. Decaf coffee would be more mellow.
This is so me today.
how about a cartoon to go with the old Kingston Trio song, “scotch and soda”?
What, no animals available to tape things to? You’re slipping, or they know when to hide.
The cartoon is very New Yorkerish, was that your intent?

Seriously, it’s too damn nice outside to worry about us or the state of the interwebs. Esp as it’s supposed to get all cold and shit again tomorrow. So go, I dunno, grill something!
LOL, had to send this one around.
@5 Jon S. “Hmm, a little bit of black humor there? Seems pretty funny to me, but critiquing comics isn’t really my cup of tea.

OK, this is the best comment I’ve read all day anywhere.
What, no alt text? I guess XKCD has spoiled me.
You mean there’s seriously not even any political bullshit to rant about? This is the States, you have 50x the amount of political bullshit as New Zealand, and that’s not even counting the Federal government. Has Obama Changed things that much?
I didn’t say there isn’t stuff to write about. I said I don’t have anything of interest to say.
Fair enough.
Fletcher is making a valid point though. Some of us think John having nothing interesting to say is, in fact, interesting. I am not one of those people. Yet I recognize the irony of highlighting this fact in a thread I claim to find uninteresting.
There’s no angst like coffee angst. No wonder poets guzzle it.
Hmmm… there’s two awesomely written and illustrated cartoons in a row! Nice work! More please?
I wonder whether the angst of coffee rubs off on the people that drink excessive amounts of it…
Where are their berets, John?
They are implied.
