Homeward Bound

I’ve had a great time in Kansas City, but now it’s time to go home and be back with the family. Wish for good travel karma for me if you would, and in case I don’t get back here for the rest of the day, have a good Memorial Day, and please do take at least a moment during the day to think on those whose sacrifice the day honors. Catch up with you all later.

  1. John,

Enjoyed your visit to KC. Get home safe. And let me know when your digestive system has recovered and you’re ready for some more KC BBQ.

  2. Travel safely, and may your culinary adventures over the last few days have minimal negative impact on your fellow passengers.

  3. I’m glad you had a good time in KC and I hope you have a safe trip home. I have to work today, its the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL for my students!!! Thank God! I made it through another year. I have to come to work on Tuesday and then out for the summer. I always play the Alice Cooper song “Schools Out” for the kids this time of year. Thursday I’m off to ConCarolinas in Charolette for the weekend. I hope everyone takes some time out today to honor the men and women who have given their lives in defense of this wounderful country. The greatest country in the world!!!

  4. You were a joy as a guest both on panels and just interacting with everyone during the convention – it is a rare joy to have such a fun and outgoing GoH at a convention! Thanks. (And thanks for making my weekend with your comparison of Pooch and Steven)

  5. Glad you had a great time, John.

We’ve couldn’t have asked for nicer GOHs to help us break in our new hotel. (They looked like they survived us). You, Oberon, Ed, Jerry and Ellen were super guests that help make Conquest a success this year. Glad you had a good time, from the feedback I have been getting most folks did and are going away with wonderful memories of Conquest40. That means we done our job.

    Save travel.

P.S. What happend to the bacon explosion? Did it stay in KC? (What happens in KC, stays in KC?) Or did you smuggle it in your suitcase back home?

  6. Oh, we made very sure that he would suffer NO barbecue deficiency problems for several days, at least. To ward off long-term withdrawal from The Good Stuff he’ll just have to come back and visit more often. :-)

It was a joy to have you in KC, John. I hope you had at least as good a time as we did, and that your journey home was both safe and reasonably pleasant. And remember–we’re keeping the negatives well-secured. Just to be sure.

  7. It was fantastic to meet you. I hope you can make it back to KC again soon – or maybe up to Lawrence for the Campbell Conference.
