This Week In Me

Which sounds like a 1970s art-porn film, doesn’t it, but is just really about my posting schedule here this week.
And it goes like this: Today and tomorrow will be spent by me getting work completed in the real world so that I have everything wrapped up by the time I head to Anticipation (this year’s Worldcon) on Wednesday, from which I will return next Monday. While at Anticipation I don’t expect to be chained to the computer.
So: Hey, probably a slow week coming up here on Whatever. Will you be able to handle it? Well, you know. I’m trying to prepare you as best I can, here. The rest is up to you.
Once again, whilst I travel, most of my communication is likely to be in Twitter form, the online methadone to the sweet Whatever smack, so you can check that out either with the “Whatwitters” sidebar over there to the right, or by following me on Twitter.
Also, for those of you who yearn for total Worldcon saturation, my posts here and my Twitter comments are also currently being fed into ConReporter.com, an aggregation site for WorldCon attendees and notables. Aside from me, other people being fed into the site include Neil Gaiman, Cory Doctorow, Elizabeth Bear, Mary Robinette Kowal, Lou Anders, Jay Lake and many other very cool folks. One stop Worldcon shopping, basically.
And now you’ve been fully briefed on the week in me.
I figure I’ll get my Scalzi fix by
following you around like a puppyattending your panels at WorldCon. See you there!Me too. You’ll recognize me, because I’ll be that charming, interesting guy who isn’t at all creeping you out by constantly staring at you.
Just remember to blink, man.
I on the hand plan to cyber stalk, much safer for all involved!
I’m pretty sure that would be called “Deep Inside John Scalzi,” and I’m glad we aren’t going there.
Next week in John Scalzi: “Oh God, why did I eat that much poutine?”
So we should expect the usual increase in unplanned blog entries then . . .

This is revenge for my Cheney / Bin Ladin slash, isn’t it?
Just remember, in Montreal, if someone asks you to taste their smoked meat log, it’s not a come on.
Usually.
I too am obsessively checking my passport and plane info…I can’t wait! I’ll be the one sitting on the dais for the panels that no one comes to :)

The white whale! thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee.

Woot! Worldcon! I haven’t been able to get as excited as I would normally get about it since our wedding is 2 weeks later, but now I’m getting geeked (so to speak)!
Must. Try. Poutine!
Yeah, I’m handling it by cutting myself off from the net.
(okay, attending Worldcon… it’s the same thing, really…)
