You Say You’d Like Some More Music? Well, Fine

Somewhere along the way I became a The Academy Is… fan, mostly because I like me some power-pop cake with emo sprinkles, and that’s what the band serves up. Here, have some.

That’s off the band’s Lost In Pacific Time EP, which is available on Amazon, iTunes and all the usual places.

  1. John Anealio – New Jersey – With little more than an alternate-tuned acoustic guitar and a dog-eared copy of The Hobbit, Sci-Fi Songwriter John Anealio composes and performs geeky anthems for writers, librarians, lovers of Science Fiction, Best Buy customers, and robots. His music sounds like John Mayer, Weezer, and James Taylor playing Dungeons and Dragons together on their iPhones.

Cool. I dig The Academy Is… myself, especially the Santi album.

  2. I first heard about this band through this blog, and now I’m a fan (and The Academy Is… songs keep popping up on the kids’ playlists as well). Didn’t know there was a new EP out, though. Thanks for the heads up.

  3. John – He chose to sample life through a seemingly random series of occupations... I make wine, beer, music and very cool stuff out of wood. Sometimes I write words

Thanks for the intro to some really good music. It’s always a pleasure to hear something that makes you immediately go to Amazon or eMusic.

Have you listened to any Nada Surf? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ulU08Se7Qs
