Gosh, she looks a lot like my Greek sister-in-law …ex. Her mother’s name is Aphrodite. Is Krissy Greek?
No. Primarily German and Mexican, with some Native American.
Is this the serious face?
Pretty.
I was just going to say!–she looks like a Roman aristocrat on a coin. That’s a compliment I always get, so I like to pass it on to other like-featured women!
I would say more Olmec than Roman. What I like is that she appears to have a second, smaller, head in the that first picture. Is she related to Zaphod Beeblebrox?
That’s her friend Cindy in the background.
Huh, I instantly thought Native American or Mexican, but then I grew up in the Southwest.
Also, she has amazing cheekbones. I’m envious.
My wife has cheeks like that… We recently found out she has Native American on her father’s side (They don’t talk much). The rest is mixed from all over Europe.
I guess we’re both lucky :)
How did you *ever* get her to marry you?
My winning personality.
I told Krissy on an elevator at the last Penguicon that you made me cry (Zoe’s Tale). She said you do that to a lot of people.
Now THAT is a mighty fine profile, there!
I’ve said it before, you’re a lucky man, Scalzi. Your wife just continues to grow more beautiful year after year.
Those cheekbones combined with those eyes equal instant jealousy over here. Pretty lady.
Yay Krissy (and Union Oyster House)!
Union Oyster House! Woo!
I like Whatever — Mr Scalzi’s rants, pics, and stories are always enjoyable — but I’m finding I look forward to the comments from the readers. Mexican, Olmec, Roman and Greek; all defensible. Your wife’s profile is classical and the second pic has a very nice Mona Lisa like quality.
so gorgeous. I’d ask how you landed her, but I just read your post on privilege, so I assume it is because you are awesome.
