Today’s Observation at Just Past One AM

Having just finished Thursday’s work a few minutes ago:
Damn, 2011 got busy, fast.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to be busy.
But, damn.
I’m going to bed.
Your lucky. It is only 11 here and my brain gnomes just woke up.
Yeah, tell me about it. Monday was, in theory, a holiday — so why have I worked 42 hours this week already?
Tell me about it. I was looking to take a break after the holidays, then BAM! Tons of work already. At least I’m staying on top of it, so far. Well, mostly. Not missing any deadlines, but slightly behind on one writing project.
Don’t worry, John. Here in Australia – sorry, “The Future”, we’ve already been through a Friday, and let me tell you, it’s a heckuva lot easier than Thursday was.
Rest well!
January is always the busiest time of year for tech support. It’s amazing how many people can forget their passwords over two weeks of holidays, or forget that their accounts are set to expire in the new year.
Hope you have a relaxing Friday!
That’s what happens when you have lofty goals. And ice sharks. They bend the space-time continuum, you know.
You need to have a talk with your manager about work-life balance.
I just finished a week much busier than any week last year. I need a holiday!
So that’s why the internet was boring yesterday.
I never even got to bed Thursday night. That’s the life of an independent contractor — dead one minute, hysterically busy the next. Only why does “hysterically busy” always seem to coincide with “very ill with bronchitis” or the like?
