The SFX Blog Awards

UK science fiction magazine SFX has listed Whatever as a finalist in its Blog awards, in the category of “Best Celebrity Blog,” along with the blogs of Neil Gaiman, Wil Wheaton, Jane Espenson, Kate Griffin and James Moran. They’d like for you to vote for your favorite. And there are five other categories as well for you to vote in. You know you love voting for stuff online, so go knock yourself out, kids. And while you’re there, go ahead and follow those links to the blogs you see there; chances are decent you’ll find some good reading (and in the case of Podcast category, good listening).

  1. Voted for you!

As for the other categories the only one I am infinitely familiar with is GateWorld.

  2. That was quite hard. In the end I got to a three-way standoff between Wil Wheaton, Neil Gaiman and you. I chose to vote for Whatever, seeing that it has the most frequent updates, most cat pictures (haha), most diversity in topics and the most comic commentary provided by your readers (yes chang who is not chang, I am looking at you).
Thank you for enriching the internet!

  3. The regularly updated content, diverse range of topics, lively debate on the boards and the presence of a very engaging host pushes Whatever to the top of this distinguished collection.

Keep on ‘doing the do’ John!

  4. I knew that Wil and Neil have blogs, but (sadly) I don’t read their blogs on a daily basis. I voted for yours on the basis that I read you every day and always enjoy both your posts and the other comments. I’m surprised Charles Stross or Ken MacLeod weren’t on, but maybe they were on previous lists.

  5. I had to chuckle when I saw the list of nominees – even if *I* was deciding the winner, I wouldn’t make it into my own top 3. It’s an honour to be listed with you, sir!

  6. Oooooow Wheaton and Scalzi going head-to-head for best celebrity blog. I’m not going to lie, this is going to be a tough decision.
