Adding Phoenix to My Book Tour

Hey! Are you or is someone you love, close to the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area? Then you’ll have a chance to see me there this May, because I will be there for two — count them, two! — events.

1. I will be a guest at the Phoenix Comicon, where I will be doing panels and signing books and (probably) dancing like an idiot at Geek Prom;

2. I will be doing an event at the Poisoned Pen bookstore in Scottsdale, on Saturday, May 28 at 5pm, along with fellow author Sam Sykes, who as some of you may recall I do not wish dead.

To see me at the Phoenix Comicon you will need to buy a membership; the event at the Poisoned Pen will be open to everyone.

Hope to see you at one or the other (or, heck, both!).

  1. Yea!!!. I’m taking my 11 year old daughter (who’s getting into manga and anime) to this as her first con. So I’m happy to hear that I might be able to see you there.

  2. I left AZ, and you go visit? … I’m gonna go crawl under the computer desk and wallow now.

  3. Dancing like an idiot, you say? I’ll believe it when I see it! Maybe at Minicon this weekend???

  4. Amazing, simply amazing!

I was going to catch you in Salt Lake to get a signed copy of Fuzzy Nation, but I have to be in an opera performance that night. The opera company insists they have priority over a book signing. So now you add a trip to Scottsdale AZ, on the weekend I will be visiting my son in Mesa.

Coincidence? I think not. I am destined to get that book!

  5. Glad to see you liked us Phoenicians so much that you want to visit again! Wil Wheaton doesn’t seem to be on the guest list yet, but I’m hoping that will change soon. You both have new works I NEED to get signed.

  6. Yay! I have had passes for Phoenix for months and was hoping you would end up making it there. I’m going to have to purchase one of your books in dead tree format and get it signed. I’ve been buying everything in Ebook lately.

  7. I get out to AZ about once a year (my mother’s in a retirement community a bit north and west of Phoenix) and so I’ve had occasion to drop in at the Poisoned Pen. It’s a nice little shop.

If perchance you’re still looking to work out your accommodations while in Scottsdale, I think you’d enjoy the Hotel Valley Ho. It’s kind of retro, has a great spa, and is actually within walking distance of the Poisoned Pen!

  8. Well, shoot. Why can’t the Phoenix Comicon happen just a few weeks earlier?

  9. CRash,

Assuming you aren’t swamped by finals at ASU, there is LepreCon 37 the weekend of May 6-8 that has some other neat authors (Elizabeth Bear, Sarah Monette, Seanan McGuire, Emma Bull, Will Shetterly) and artists (John Picacio, Darrell K. Sweet) that aren’t going to be at Phoenix ComiCon plus a few who are going to be at both (Sam Sykes, Janni Lee Simner, Gini Koch and debut novelist Kevin Hearne).

As a disclaimer, I am chair of LepreCon 37 as well as SciFi Director at Phoenix ComiCon (yes, I am crazy).

  10. Thanks for the tip – that sounds like a good time, and it looks like my finals schedule will allow me to make it, too!
