“Fuzzy Man (Fuzzy Nation)” Now on Rockband.com

You rocked out to the unspeakably awesome songFuzzy Man (Fuzzy Nation)” when Paul & Storm originally released it in tandem with my novel Fuzzy Nation. You grooved to Molly Lewis’ unspeakably winsome ukulele version. But are you prepared to put your unspeakable (virtual) musical skillz to the test against this epic slab of end credits rock balladry? Because now you can: “Fuzzy Man (Fuzzy Nation)” is now available on Rockband.com for the Xbox 360 platform. If you have an Xbox 360 and you don’t get this, your Xbox may become enraged and get all Red Ring of Death™ on you. I’m not saying it will happen. I’m asking you, why take that chance? Alternately, studies which I am making up in my head right now have shown getting the song for you Xbox 360 makes it run better, faster and also makes you feel smarter and smell like fresh baked bread. And everyone loves that smell. Basically, there is no possible downside to getting this, ever. You should buy it right this very instant.

  1. Almost makes me want to play Rockband. I was in The Poisoned Pen bookstore last month, and they happened to have a signed copy of Fuzzy Nation, so I picked it up. Even though I loved your previous books, I didn’t really want to read this one. I mean, little fuzzy dudes? Just got it for the signature. When I got home, I cracked the book open just to check it out, and didn’t put it down until I’d finished.

  2. You sure have successfully convinced me to. . . go make a sandwich. I’m totally craving bread now. And maybe if I had a 360 I’d go get Rock Band, but for now, I got to bread.

  3. Alas, all Rock Band has ever done for me is demonstrate the gulf between my stepsons and myself at gaming. I do OK with Halo and Super Smash Bros types, but I was simply awful at Rock Band. So as much as I love Paul and Storm, Portland’s w00tstock will always be a treasured memory; and Fuzzy Nation, I will not be purchasing this. But maybe if the kids get Rock band…

  4. Well, unless you have a girlfriend who’s gluten-intolerant. I’m not saying that I do, because I don’t, but if I did, perfuming myself with fresh-bread smell would seem like a really insensitive thing to do. You should just have an option for gluten-free power ballads on your Xbox, is all I’m saying.

  5. Uhm, according to Spider Robinson in God Is an Iron, people who smell like fresh baked bread are starving to death. So I’m not sure this is such an attractive feature…

  6. Sad that I can’t get it on my Wii. However, if the opportunity does arise to do it as part of some Rock Band activity at Phoenix Comicon, I’ll make sure we get it on the Xbox system we use.

  7. As cool as this is, and it’s very cool, it doesn’t stand up to the live-ish performances at worldcon. :)
