Redshirts at Wired’s GeekDad and GeekMom

Today Redshirts gets a double dosage of geek parental attention at Wired.com: GeekDad runs an interview with me about the book, in which I talk about writing about red shirts and the role of humor in science fiction, while GeekMom notes Redshirts in an article about what the site’s contributors are reading. The takeaway from the brief review:
Laugh out loud funny, this book is a must read once it is released June 5, 2012, especially if you are a true fan of science fiction television.
Excellent.
Hope your Memorial Day is going well.
GeekDad has a bit at the bottom where you can read the first five chapters of the book. See you later, alligator.
Slightly OT. Who won the “closest to the time” ARC contest?
Oh Mr. John. We are only a week away from me impatiently waiting for my preorder to trickle into my nook. I will actually have the book in my hands tomorrow. A library owned copy. We get them about a week early, and there are these horrible rules that say I can’t just bring it home devour it and bring it back. I will likely try not to read the whole thing during my lunch breaks this week. I do have it preordered, and I will try to read my copy. Besides I still have a deep TBR pile which has gotten smaller during my 4 day weekend/reading hermitage that is ending today. Why the heck am Istill babbling on, I have several hours of hermitage left to get back to.
I’ve devoured it twice already (’twas loads of fun!) and have pre-ordered it from my local indie bookseller.
I am neither a time traveler nor delusional. I haz ARC.

I’ll announce those winners tomorrow.
Anne, I’d just like to say
we hates the nasty Annes, we hates it for evercongratulations.I keep booting up my Kindle Fire to see if it’s downloaded yet. Sadly I didn’t pay extra for the “time travel” option which would send me books before they’re released. :-(
