My Technological Karma Continues its Downward Slide

My phone died last night. The phone which I’ve had, you know, for not very long at all. Now I must away to a Verizon store and get a new one.
This is my way of saying that for the next few hours at least, contact will be intermittent. Best to send me e-mail. My computer is still working.
FOR NOW.
I’ve missed the news on the errant laptop. Anything good come out of that yet?
Hey John, is it physically broken, or are you having some kind of software issue? If it’s software, I may be able to point you in the right direction so you can fix it yourself….
Your computer is still working because you have it, don’t lose it (Side question are your electronics colored red?)
It seems like the devices are lost/die only when they are in your possession — or near your person. Maybe it isn’t karma at all. Maybe it is something else. I would think this would be obvious for the author of REDSHIRTS. ;-)
I have a twig that’s burnt on one end. Rubbing it on a smooth surface will leave markings. And I also have some smooth white bark from a malaluka tree. Is excellent for mark making. Might be time to go retro.
A mysterious force making John’s electronics come to grief would make more sense if he were prepared to emote over them in a Shatneresque fashion:
Whateverites!… I… just… bought…. this… phone!
FWIW you have a (Galaxy) Nexus, which means it’s almost impossible to destroy, software-wise. That’s why it’s popular amongst the hacking/rooting/etc crowd. What happened?
the same thing happened to me, but since you’ve had it < 1 year, Samsung will replace it, no questions asked. You will be without it for a few days, and lose your data, but you'll get a brand new (in box!) one after… their website has all the details
Hmm…hopefully “all things come in threes” doesn’t hold true here.
I’m sure your Mac Air is working just fine.
Good Grief, what did you do? Kick an electronic puppy? the Electronics gods are clearly pissed at you
I have a friend that got a Droid X – and then got another, and then another all in the space of about 3 weeks. The radios kept dying.
