    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,

    So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.

    Also sadly apropos for today in the USA.

    I’m guessing that’s as soothing as anything at the end of a day like today could be.

  3. John, if you don’t already know about them, you might be interested in “Sunsets, Twilights, and Evening Skies” by Aden and Marjorie Meinel and “Rainbows, Halos, and Glories” by R. Grennler. Both are classics in the field.
