More Boxing Day Blizzard Photos

Athena and I braved the frozen expanses of the outside world to photodocument the results of the blizzard earlier today. Come along and see it in all its frozen whiteitude in this Flickr set.

I just finished with the damned snow blower, and my neighbor has a friend come over with a plow blade on his pickup truck, and he manages to pile the snow from their driveway at the end of my driveway. I will NEVER run my snow blower on their freakin’ sidewalk again. They can stuff it.

The snow falling off the roof is a great shot. Good thing you weren’t planning to go anywhere today, if that is an indication of the depth of snow. The couple of inches we got on Christmas Eve is less than we needed and more than I wanted. Not melting as fast as usual, since it has been bitterly cold the past couple of days.

Now there’s a pic link I’ll click through. Pose off? No freaking way.
Brain freeze Ha! I was wondering what was flapping in the wind on your roof. Some thing to keep ice out of the gutters? Snow drift? Really? That’s cool. I don’t have much experience with snow.

I am sitting here in Chicago, looking longingly at your pictures. We typically get a good storm in the week after Thanksgiving, but this year we’ve only had one day of (barely) measurable snowfall. Last week’s winter storm crapped out as it crossed the borders from Iowa and Wisconsin, so with this storm we are a sad little snow-less oasis.
