The Radiant She! Yay!
Thank you.
Thanks, John. What a day.
Need more because that it’s that kind of day.
Thanks, I needed that. I’m sitting in my office 2 miles from there, in the midst of a bunch of hospitals listening to all the sirens streaming by.
She’s a beautiful cat. Thank you.
I will be checking this site to find some comforting and well thought out words.
Thanks for that. Sitting here and making creepy videos and constantly hitting the refresh button is not so good for sanity.
Thank you. My office is two blocks from the explosions. Fortunately, I took the day off.
Thanks. I am obsessively refreshing FB to make sure everyone who went into town for the day is safe. I’m completely nauseated right now.
Thank you
Thank you.
Much appreciated.
Thanks, John. My cat has now come out from under the rug in Boston.
My thoughts go out to all those poor people who have been affected in one way or another.
Thanks, John.
Thanks, I needed that.
Hope everyone (who we haven’t heard about) is safe.
Now, let us consider carefully this photo of The Supreme One.
(Seriously, guys, go with it. It will help take your mind off it and keep you from obsessively refreshing creepy videos)
Notice how the roundness of her fluff is echoed by the roundness of the plant on the table. How the curve of the table and the chair also echo the curve of her magnificent ruff.
Then note how the lines in the wood of the table and those of the wood in the floor run at right angles. And the intersection is where She is sitting.
This is a cat who knows how to best position herself to make herself look even better.
Okay, deep breath… hold it… let it out.
Repeat as needed.
The Emergency Cat Picture will be here, and we must thank OGH for providing this service.
In all likelihood, The Supreme One will treat me with disdain and supreme indifference. And flounce off in some undetermined time in the future.
At the moment, I’ll take that.
Thank you, O Great Scalzi, for sharing this magnificent image of The Supreme One.
Thank you for this. Friends have also pointed me to dailyotter and emergencykitten.
Thanks, I needed that.
O Scalzi, we concur with all those before us who have praised this picture of magnificent She.
We had a clever joke in mind here, but what little we know of comic timing informs us that now would be a really, really bad time to crack any. So we’re just going to sit here and admire the Supreme One for a little while, and maybe watch some Mr. Rogers’s Neighborhood.

I am not a cat person. In fact, I tend to be emphatically anti-cat (not anti-kitten, I am human). This, however, made me smile. I guess “the Supreme” has some kind of extra power not normally found in other cats.
…
Today, I cannot English, or think. But She is a cure for many ills. As is prayer, when one can do nothing else.
I have a cat that looks very similar!! Beautiful beasts!

John, please feel free to zorch my misplaced comment. Clearly I am in DIRE need of an emergency cat picture.
Thanks for the comforting images, much needed today. As a Massachusetts native, it makes me sad that, on a day when people come to Boston from all over the world to be their best, some person or persons decided to be their worst….
Emergency kitty picture is much appreciated. Thank you and Her Imperial Majesty.

Meow.
Yup. That’s what I’m all about right now. Thank you.
Yes it has been a horrible day. A good friend stood by the second bomb for a few hours. His wife crossed the finish line three minutes before the bombs. He was safe because he walked away to meet her.
I like cats. That is a nice cat photo. It made me smile, so thanks.
Here is the day I had in the IT department this weekend: http://www.samhaseyebrows.com/
Very much appreciated.
Thanks for posting! <3
Thanks Mr. Scalzi and also glwilson — I didn’t know those sites existed.
Someday, we may be as enlightened as cats.

Yes
Cat has soft fur
And eyes.
Polka Dot says:

I think bad.
How are you
So is that Ghlaghghee sinning? (My policy is that the cat is allowed to sit on anything I sit on – with exceptions for windowsills and the like.)
