A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste

Me and Jay Lake at the Nebula Mass Signing yesterday. I taste of executive power. For another few weeks, anyway.

  1. Have you ever really looked at a tongue? Tongues are really weird looking. Plus they’re prehensile which is another thing that makes them interesting. Tongues are the sort of thing that, the more you look at them and think about them, the weirder and more interesting they become. And that’s before you get into the other things they are/do. Like taste and touch (I’m very conscious of food texture so I’m sure the tongue plays a big role in that) so they must be sending gobs of data to the brain. And don’t get me started in their role of language. Human or otherwise.

Whatever paddles your ass, as my best friend in college liked to say….

  3. *sings* Allll we want to do is eat your brains~
    We’re not unreasonable.
(I mean, no one’s going to eat your eyes…)

  4. Listen, strange men in Hawaiian shirts licking scalps is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive authority derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical tongueing ceremony.
