If you’re going to be at C2E2 in Chicago this weekend — and why wouldn’t you be? How could you not be? — then this is where you will find me.
Friday, 4/25
1:30pm – 2:30pm, Room S402: “Science Fiction”: Daryl Gregory, M.D. Waters, Gary K. Wolfe and I are going to talk about the genre of science fiction and finally settle all lingering questions about the field. after which the aliens will finally arrive and the new age of humanity will begin! (Note: settling all questions, alien arrival and new age of humanity are not guaranteed.)
2:45pm – 3:45pm: Table 1: Autographing: After we’re done with the above panel, all of us will be signing! Wheee!
Saturday, 4/26:
1:30pm – 2:30pm, Room S403: “Geek Geek Revolution”: This will be a game show I am hosting, in which authors Patrick Rothfuss, Kevin Hearne, Seth Fishman and Lydia Kang (and possibly some extras) compete by answering nerdy quiz questions. Yes, I will be Alex Trebek for this. BWA HA HA HA HAH AH AHA HA.
Other than this, I will be wandering about and causing trouble for others. Come find me! See you there.
Hopefully my couch will be delivered in time to make the Friday panel! Stupid 4 hour delivery window.
You know I’m coming to your panels to heckle you, right? ;-P
Isabel:
I wouldn’t have it any other way!
It’s going to be my first C2E2 (despite living in Oak Park) so I’m looking forward to Saturday like crazy!
> why wouldn’t you be? How could you not be?
Maybe because I live in Germany?
> (Note: … are not guaranteed.)
Did you just invalidate everything you previously anounced? Don’t they call that kind of behaviour Breaking Bad nowadays? (Or maybe I mixed it up with Marketing? Technical terms can be so confusing.)
> After we’re done with the above panel, all of us will be signing!
At that time – as we know – all questions will already be settled, etc., pp., so you should have time and leisure in abundance.
> wandering about and causing trouble for others
I love it when someone makes good use of his most marketable qualifications …
Regards, and have fun
Timothy
That laugh sounded more like SNL’s Connery than Trebek -> watch out for Rothfuss making jokes about your mother. ;)
So pumped for this weekend! This is my very first convention and I am super excited. I won’t lie it’s a little overwhelming trying to plan which panels to see and which ones to miss. As long as I’m able to catch you and Pat Rothfuss I’ll consider this weekend a huge win. Anyone have any advice for a first time con goer?
Just starting watching BBC America’s “Real History of Science Fiction.” That will have to be my proxy for coming to your panel. :-)
I hope to attend one of your panels, but I will be working the Chicago Loot Drop booth on Friday and Sunday, trying to help raise money to buy toys for kids at the U of C hospital. If I don’t make it to your events, I hope they go well (because let’s face it, I am the life of the party/panel/hecklefest).
I’ll see you at Geek Geek (I wrote most of your questions; LOL!) and I will be your prize-runner! Stop by the Penguin booth and say hi!
“M.D. Waters” sounds like a blues name. Does she play harmonica??
