You Know What? I’m Not Gonna Be Here Today

Because I don’t feel like it. Yes, that will happen from time to time.

In my absence, enjoy Eddie Izzard, who I am seeing this evening (at a concert, not, like socially. Although I wouldn’t mind hanging out with him. He seems cool).

See you tomorrow.

  1. Roy Sexton (Reel Roy Reviews) – I've been posting my movie musings on Facebook for a few years now, much to the chagrin of true arbiters of taste. I tend to go see whatever film has been most obnoxiously hyped, marketed, and oversold in any given week...art films? Bah! Won't find too many of those discussed here. And every once in awhile, I may review a TV show, record album, theatrical production, or book (yeah, probably not too many of those)...and I may use this blog for some shameless self-promotion. Just a fair warning! Enjoy! Speaking of which - I now have a book! Order it here: http://www.amazon.com/Reel-Reviews-Keepin-Real-Volume/dp/0615964907/ref=zg_bs_4494_15. Also, you can read my mom’s work at www.susieduncansexton.com and check out my theatre group at www.pennyseats.org

oh, how I adore him – “cake or death?”

  2. mandaray – Knoxville, Tennessee – I am a question wrapped in a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Also, I like green tea.

Got to see him in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. He’s amazing. :D Enjoy!

  3. Yay! I am seeing him on the 20th in K.C.- the ticket was a surprise (early) birthday present from friends, so double yay.

  4. I don’t have time to watch the linked video right now, but I know it. It is why I learned to make penne alla arrabbiata.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you have friends who are friends with Eddie. Maybe Neil Gaiman? The day of the show might be a bit late to try to set something up, but I bet you could meet him. Just let it be known that you’d like to meet him, and some day, one of your common acquaintances might say, “Hey! I’m meeting Eddie for lunch. Want to come along?”
Being a fan of both of you, I’d bet that the two of you would have a great time hanging out.

  5. We had the pleasure of sitting next to you and your lovely wife this evening. It was wonderful to have met you both! I have added ‘Old Man’s War’ to my summer reading list already. Best regards to you. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did!

  6. And I got to say Hi to John as we were heading into the theater. It was an amazing show, with a callback to the video John posted.
