We Did This 19 Years Ago Today

And I would do it again. Yes I would. She would, too. I checked the other day. She said yes. Still.

  1. Congratulations on today (past years and present) and here is to many more glorious years!

Gosh, your Krissy was radiant that day!

  2. You two were just so lovely – but of course, that’s an opinion colored by knowledge of what comes after. Happy anniversary, and enjoy many more!

  3. It looks as if she is literally (not figuratively, literally) walking on air. There’s like a whole inch of air under her right foot.

  4. Mazel tov! May you share many more years of delight in each others’ company. There truly is nothing better in all the world than being married to your best friend.

  5. Congratulations on 19 years! May you have 19 and 19 and 19 more!

I also love Krissy’s dress and the bouquet is lovely as well.

The doors are fabulous—worthy of a library dedicated to the strange and mystical.

  6. Happy Anniversary! She was beautiful then and has improved with age. You, well… yeah, you’ve improved. You’re like, um, you’re like wine, no, you’re like cheese! Yeah, you’re like cheese! You’re stronger, sharper and, um, you’re, um, you’re, um, more pungent! Yeah. You’ve improved with age!

  7. I love how much you love your wife. It’s a beautiful thing to witness. Happy Anniversary to you both; may you have many more.

  8. Congrats! I’ve designed more than one wedding dress (mostly for guys, though), and I have to say that your wife has EXCELLENT taste! You two are just as gorgeous now as you were that day; whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it right (Coke Zero, right? I’m on it!)

Some of the young anime girls I worked Phoenix Comicon with were walking with me from the Sheraton behind you & Krissy one day, and I was explaining to them who you were. Then you took Krissy’s hand as you guys walked. There was literal squeeing going on. You two are officially adorable. :)

  9. Many Happy Returns. Nice picture, too. But who is the guy with his head full of hair? (I kid because I love.)

  10. Congrats on the milestone! I too am crazy in love with my other half after 20 years (last week) of marriage. It just keeps getting better for us, and it sounds like for you as well.

  11. You don’t have a prenup and you make a lot of money now… So of course she would do it again.

You are make your male brethren look bad by remembering all these dates…. Get with the program.

  12. “…I was a Flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or shall I wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish Wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes.”

    James Joyce, Ulysses (last lines).

    Seems appropriate!

  13. *sniff, sniff*

Is it my imagination, or is she floating off the pavement??

  14. Considering I’m the one standing on my tiptoes in that picture, possibly not. But it is true we’re both pretty happy in that picture.

  15. Congrats! We are at 22 years, and she still thinks I’m a freak of nature.

And when friends of her and friends of you get together for some reason, do they also say “I would have never thought it would last…” ?

Best Wishes to both of you. Don’t forget the gallon of wesson oil and a shower curtain at the next con….

  16. Here’s to another happy 40 or 50 years of marital bliss, Mr. Scalzi!

Good luck and many happy returns!

Incidentally, my parents are celebrating their 20th anniversary this week, too. They’re headed to Europe to see Mom’s favorite rock band on tour as a celebration.
