Hey, look, it’s September, and here are the books and ARCs that came into the Scalzi Compound while I was on the first leg of my tour. See anything here you like (I mean, aside from the signed limited hardcover edition of Unlocked)? Share in the comments (which are open for a couple of days).
Unlocked and The Getaway God.
I’ll be picking up Hieroglyph if it hits our local public library. It’s hard for me to imagine an anthology of utopian stories that will hold my interest, but I’m willing to give it a shot.
The McCammon. Even though he has never gone back to the almost alien heights of Boy’s Life (and Gone South) he is almost always highly entertaining.
Queen of Bedlam, Hieroglyph & Unlocked.
Hieooglyph sounds interesting as a counterpart to the Apocalypse Triptych from JJA/Howey.
You got a copy of The Lady! Jealous!
Kadrey and … Scalzi?
I’ll squee about Unlocked if I damn well please. Hmph.
The Whateverites have corrupted me. My first thought on seeing that pile was “dayum, that’s a nice set of spine designs!”
I can’t wait for my copy of Unlocked!
Queen of Bedlam, because the title is so intriguing.
Read Queen of Bedlam. Loved it. Easily the best Matthew Corbett mystery so far, and leaps beyond Speaks the Night bird.
Getaway God sounds cool too.
New Kadrey? Yes, please.
Queen of Bedlam was really good and I’d be happy to own my own copy.
No kidding….but doesnt that new Scalzi just draw you in….? You, my website aquaintance, have won me over…..Lock In should be in my mailbox tomorrow……
Getaway God is already on my Amazon UK list.
Heiroglyph sounds interesting; I have been thinking about giving it a try.
completely unrelated to topic; we need a nice photo of you and Duane online from upcoming Seattle bookstore event.
I read “The Getaway God” over the weekend. It was awesome, the best Sandman Slim novel in a while (not that there is such a thing as a bad Sandman slim novel, mind you).
My only First World problem with it is that the publisher changed the trade dress (to a movie poster look), and the spine doesn’t match up perfectly with the previous volumes. Waah!
Do you actually read through this many books in a week? It seems like you have a pic like this weekly!

“The Getaway God” was excellent — can’t wait for the next one in that series…
Getaway God and Hieroglyph. Don’t know anything about that Scalzi fellow ;)
I agree! The Getaway God looks interesting.
Looking forward to Getaway God for sure. I think I might be a book behind on the McCammon series.
