  1. Haha, “Rise of the Spider Goddess”. There should be a hugo award for best title, because that deserves recognition.

  2. MRAL: The full title is THE PROSEKILLER CHRONICLES: RISE OF THE SPIDER GODDESS (AN ANNOTATED NOVEL)

I’m still figuring out how best to squeeze it all onto the cover.

  3. “Old Venus” – reminds me of the beginning of the 1953 film version of War of the Worlds when they skipped over the planet during the overview of the solar system because they weren’t sure what was there.

  4. I’m guessing that Old Venus = swamps and semi-primitive amphibian-type aliens with greatly advanced biological-science skills?

  5. Oh yes, definitely “The Killer wore Leather” by Laura Antoniou. A mürder most justified. And And its story is not “only” excellently told, but way more than 50 ways of funny.

  6. What a tempting stack! I’ve already greatly enjoyed myself with The Killer Wore Leather, though, from first page to last, and now I desperately want to attend a big kink convention.

  7. First thing caught my eye: Black Dog. “Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.” And written by someone named Caitlin. I could read this.

  8. Marion: is it wrong of me that for I second I read that as “Came back from vacation to find my Ark of the Covenant in the mail”? (Yes, it’s well past my bedtime, why do you ask?
