The Schwab and the Orzel — it isn’t about his dog!
Oh I am unbelievably jealous of A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC AHHHHHH!!!
Cannot wait to get my hands on Covenant’s End.
No Subterranean Press book(s) this week? That doesn’t seem to happen often.
Looking forward to reading Rise of the Spider Goddess.
Black Dog for me.
Haha, “Rise of the Spider Goddess”. There should be a hugo award for best title, because that deserves recognition.
Hines!
OLD VENUS and A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC, for me.
Old Venus and the Hines laugh-a-thon.
MRAL: The full title is THE PROSEKILLER CHRONICLES: RISE OF THE SPIDER GODDESS (AN ANNOTATED NOVEL)
I’m still figuring out how best to squeeze it all onto the cover.
“Old Venus” – reminds me of the beginning of the 1953 film version of War of the Worlds when they skipped over the planet during the overview of the solar system because they weren’t sure what was there.
@J. Hines, EVEN BETTER.
I like that the swords look like they’re about to execute the title.
Tricia Sullivan’s “Shadowboxer.” I’ve heard good things about it.
I’m guessing that Old Venus = swamps and semi-primitive amphibian-type aliens with greatly advanced biological-science skills?
A book edited by both George R.R. Martin AND Gardner Dozois??? I’m going to go find the book on Amazon right now…
Old Venus, for sure .Dark Intelligence looks good, too.
The Killer Wore Leather is excellent.
+1 for The Killer Wore Leather
You’ll have loads of fun with The Killer Wore Leather.
Schwab!
Am I the only one who wants the new Neil
Asher novel now?
no, no, Asher for me too.
Oh yes, definitely “The Killer wore Leather” by Laura Antoniou. A mürder most justified. And And its story is not “only” excellently told, but way more than 50 ways of funny.
And less spelling accidents than my post, too.

Got Black Dog in the mail last week, and Old Venus and Covenant’s End this week. Here’s my Mailbag episode for November 3, with about 8 titles featured.
What a tempting stack! I’ve already greatly enjoyed myself with The Killer Wore Leather, though, from first page to last, and now I desperately want to attend a big kink convention.
First thing caught my eye: Black Dog. “Hey, hey, mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove.” And written by someone named Caitlin. I could read this.
Came back from vacation to find my ARC of Covenant’s End in the mail. Hurray!
Really looking forward to Ourselves! Love SG Redling!
Ourselves is excellent and just the beginning to a whole new series by SG Redling!
Marion: is it wrong of me that for I second I read that as “Came back from vacation to find my Ark of the Covenant in the mail”? (Yes, it’s well past my bedtime, why do you ask?
