Continuing to catch up on all the new books and ARCs that have come to the Scalzi Compound since the turn of the year. Here’s today’s batch, and there are some excellent finds in here. What looks good to you? The comment thread hungers for your input.
Kelly Link!
I have been alerted to keep my eye out for Get in Trouble this week. Also, interesting to see a physical ARC from Angry Robot. I have only ever gotten one, I think. They seem to prefer Netgalley exclusively. At least the eARCs they provide there don’t have an expiration date.
Please explain this “ARC” thingie. I’m familiar with the concept of a story arc. But this seems to be something different?

Get in trouble looks very interesting
The Kelly Link looks exciting. The William Shaw title is giving me a Beatles earworm.

Kelly’s a friend, and I’m such a huge fan of her work, and I absolutely cannot wait for this book.
New Kelly Link! Her “Magic for Beginners” had the truest first paragraph ever written, and I’ve been a fan ever since.
I hadn’t heard of Carrie Patel’s The Buried Life but Angry Robot is often interesting, so I’ll look into that.
And not shown but eagerly looking forward to Harry Connolly’s The Way Into Darkness, book 3 of The Great Way epic fantasy trilogy.

The Kings Of London… hoping it’s a crime book…
Kelly. Link. I’m supposed to be getting an ARC from LibraryThing, but it hasn’t ever come! Maybe it will come now.
I’m curious about (R)evolution. Can’t find anything about it on Amazon.
