Because it’s been a few days since we’ve had a kitten picture here, and obviously we can’t have that. Enjoy.

What did you use to make the kitten sit still long enough to get a photo?
When I try to photograph one of my cats, he or she will immediately leave, turn around, or otherwise ruin the shot. Unless they are asleep.
A plucky kitten trying not to fret…
Dude, that ain’t a guitar, and you know it. — sulizano
Tenor guitar, uncommon instrument these days.
Don’t fret, little scamperbeast. He’s just stringing you along. :)
Good call, Dan Harrington. It is indeed a tenor guitar, and seemingly a nice one at that! Too bad the inlaid logo is covered by the tuner. Maybe John will share the brand name. ??
She’s a rock star!
That is an earnest kitten!
Growing up so fast!
O my, but she has grown! I swear she’s bigger than she was in the photo you posted on Friday. And what a serious face that is! Are her eyes turning golden, or is that just a trick of the light reflecting off her beautiful fur?
In any case, please accept my thanks for a kitten chaser to rid my eyes of the nasty subject of your previous post (the topic, not your writing, I should add!). Of the two, I far prefer the kitten, though it is clear that I ignore the other at my peril.
Which tuner are you using?
Spice looks alarmed that Trump is doing so well in the polls. Any minute now, she will pick up the guitar and yowl out a protest song on the subject.
O, geesh, I would fall right under the Trump comment. Is there anything sweeter than a little kitten? esp. with a guitar!
I did enjoy looking at both objects, for entirely different reasons. Odd pairing but nice.
Incredibly cute. My eyes could bleed …
The axe is a Blueridge BR-40T.
The tuner is a Snark.
First Doctor Who, now Scalzi’s adding guitar to everything…
Cute kitten though.
I CAN HAS CAPO 4?
This is the guitar:

“Catgut?!?”
Thank you, this is a much-needed relief from current events.
Sugar? Spice? Has grown so much. She looks great. That guitar’s wonderful, capo and all.
So… it looks like she’s almost ready for her teenage rebel angst punk rock star phase. Can’t be too long until she’s got a bandana on her head, over a wild hairstyle, and she’s dating some alley tomcat biker boy with a leather jacket and tattoos and….
(If only I could come up with complete plots that felt original. Still working on that.)
Could Sugar and Spice be the next Ann and Nancy Wilson? Dixie Chicks? Indigo Girls? Spice Kitties? Dunno.
Previous point about snakes, snails, and puppy-dogs’ tails might apply more than ever to the kitten with guitar photo. Not exactly a “still” life! :D
I may be late to the party, but I noticed the reference to kittens in the latest blog as ‘Spice’ and ‘Sugar.’ Woohoo, they exist! They have names! And they’re growing up too. Look bigger already.
I really hope Sugar’s not trying to figure out if the top of that guitar is big enough for one loveable kitten to stand on.
Spice kitten is terminally cute and is going to be one drop dead gorgeous cat. Whiskers and markings are simply marvelous.
They said You have a blue guitar,
You do not play things as they are.
The kitten replied, Things as they are
Are changed upon the blue guitar
It’s Spice’s acoustic album cover!
She is one beautiful and adorable kitty and she knows it.
Looks like a baby tiger!!
“So THAT’s what makes the horrible wailing sound!”

Also, that looks like a Classical capo… very nice, but a bit too wide for that tenor.
