  1. For most of us in the family it is the start of what could be a great new year. I just gave $50 each to the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Irag and Afghanistan Veterans of America. I dare any 5 people to give at least $10 to each.
On a sadder note, my twin great nephews just lost one of their best friends to either a nasty accident, or suicide. In EITHER case, losing someone close as a teen sucks a dirty donkey tail. This is a fucked up start to the new year. For me personally, I’ve got awesome friends and family, and some of that family is going through a terrible time.
Love to all you who come here or are friends and family of our Gracious Host.

Happy New Year to you and your family – though we still have about two-and-a-half hours to go here in SoCal.

  3. And likewise to you, sir, and to your family, both two-legged and four. May health and happiness grace your hearth this year, and may creativity continue to delight you (and the rest of us) all the year long.

  4. Lots of happiness on that sofa already, by the look of it :) . Happy New Year to you, your family, and your pets.

Happy New Year! The cats seem to be welcoming it in the style that they’ll probably continue – much napping.

  14. Zeus and the Scamperbeasts. Now there’s a something-or-other. They look quite pleased with the couch for cozy napping and cuddling. As long as you have somewhere suitable for same. :) Gee, they really know how to live it up. Must’ve been all that eggnog….

Happy New Year to all. Health and happiness and prosperity, and loved ones to share it with.

Me, I want to make it through January, finally get font drafts submitted so I might have a chance at income again, so I can pull out of this mess. But likely, income won’t happen until February. Skating by until then, I hope. Much else to get past in the new year, and hoping somehow things will work out without too much more trouble.

@digitalatheist — I’m sorry to hear that about your nephews’ friend. I was reminded of a childhood friend who died a few years back, cause unspecified. Life had long ago separated us, but still, I missed him. When things get very rough, I try to remind myself not to do that. We never know who might miss us.
