Columbus has clouds!
My event in Westerville went well, and now I’m kicking back in my hotel room here in Columbus, where tomorrow I’m a featured author at the Ohioana Book Festival. If you’re in the area, come on down. It will be lovely to see you. If you’re not in the area, well, enjoy the clouds in the picture.
I used to work in Columbus, 13-odd years ago. I have fond memories of a restaurant called Martini (http://martinimodernitalian.com/). If you’re at loose ends at any point and craving food, you could probably do a lot worse. It might suck now, but I doubt it.
On other fronts: You can see the sky. Count yourself lucky. My time in Columbus was usually pretty cloudy. My wife is from Dayton; we have an expression for a cloudy, drizzly, gray day (which do, in fact, come up even in Florida): “Ohio weather”.
I don’t understand your photograph. I don’t see any cats.
What happened to the parking lots and air conditioners?
Holy crap, you can see my old apartment from your hotel room. It’s just to the left of the library, at the end of State Street (near the middle in this photo.)
Hey, could you drop by there and make sure I didn’t leave the gas on when I left?
To anyone visiting Columbus I suggest doing two very important things. First, eat at a Cameron Mitchell restaurant (the aforementioned Martini for instance). Second, go to Jeni’s Splendid Ice cream. Its appropriate to sample (at a minimum) three flavors before selecting. You really should try anything that sounds interesting, and one thing that doesn’t.
Columbus Nimbus clouds
Hey John, had the Book Festival been in Cleveland instead you could have checked out the gutters to see if they can handle the expected flow of blood.
OH nice picture! Come and visit my account :)
