This Picture Was Photoshopped

Specifically, I used Photoshop to remove the light switch on the wall directly above Krissy. Because it ruined the composition, that’s why! Man, Photoshop is handy sometimes.

In other news, I’m off to Penguicon in a couple hours, where I’ll be doing a reading (with Dave Klecha) and a panel and otherwise just, you know, hanging about. Come say hello if you’re there. If you’re not there and you say hello, that’s fine, but I may not hear you. Sorry.

Nice composition, but… I can still see where the switch was! Almost as if somebody else in the household had painted the wall before I did the final coat and sanding of spackle where the light switch used to be.

Not that I would know anything about that.

Can you recommend any good net-tutorials on basic photoshopping (or gimping) photos?

I’m not so interested in “How do I remove a light switch/disgraced comrade/excess body fat?” as “So I just took a photo with my crappy camera; how do I make it look good?”. There are plenty of the former out there.

This is a good photo, and your camera is a lot less crappy than mine.

Apropos of nothing: I had a dream last night that I walked through a portal into Scalzi’s house (and all of them were totally cool with total strangers wandering through their house), almost stepped on Sugar, and then we all had a huge party.
So, thanks John, Krissy and Athena for the party of my (literal) dreams!

Very nice photo, and very proper use of Photoshop. btw congratulations on renewing your driver’s license. They probably wouldn’t let you test-drive a Tesla without one. ;-)
