Pre-Prom Pictures

Athena and her beau Hunter are off at prom right now, but before they left, I took something like 250 photos. Ten percent of them are in a Flickr set for your perusal, if you are of such a mind to take a look. The set is here. Enjoy!

  1. Oh my goodness, but they’re so cute together! (Sorry, Athena, I realize that adjective is probably not what you were going for, but that’s just how folks “of a certain age” think sometimes.) I love the playfulness and fun that comes through so clearly in those photos.

I hope the event was loads of fun for them both, and thank you for sharing a glimpse with us!

  2. Their adorable. Very tolerant kids to let you take 250 shots. Love the dress and the playfulness. Hope they had a great time.

  3. Wow! I remember seeing her when she was little and she looked exactly like Krissy. (Not able to see her now) but bet she is gorgeous. I hope she had a wonderful time!

  4. I adore the dress! And it’s great to see young people having such fun. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

  5. Glad to see happiness, good tidings to all of your clan. Be well, be happy and so on (exeunt stage left). Tell the boy/man about waist-coats and how the low / high cut is used – he had some bad advice there. The dress? Well, hey. Money doesn’t buy taste, but taste doesn’t need money. It’s nice when you have both.

PLEASE REMIND SAID YOUNG BUCK THAT YOU HAVE ELDRITCH ENTITIES BEHIND YOU AND NOT THE USUAL SHOTGUN. I SENSE SOME SERIOUS NAUGHTINESS IN THAT HAIR-STYLE.

I’VE BEEN TOLD MY JOKE ABOUT VIRGIN SACRIFICE IS LIKE BAD AND I SHOULD FEEL BAD BUT I’M AN OLDER-ANCIENT-BEING SO I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD FOR A SMILE.

IT’S NOT LIKE MALES CANNOT FULFILL THE FUNCTION, IS IT?

  6. Oh, my, they look so young. As I remember it, we were all so much more grown up when we went to our high school proms, yeahuh.

  7. That dress is perfection. Am I the only one sad for the pineapple though? (Hunter’s probably a better dancer at least :-)

  8. Holy crap, what a cool dress. I am having retroactive envy.

@Susan: Well, Athena and the Hunter has a certain ring to it, I suppose. Artemis and the Hunter just brings to mind that one rather… unfortunate… myth.

What would Athena-the-goddess’s nominal epithet, anyway? I know “gray-eyed” and all that, but that’s adjectival… you *could* call someone “the Gray-Eyed”, but it’s rather awkward.

  9. Great pics and so much ahead of them. All the best to them both.

  10. They both look so lovely, and more importantly, happy. I hope they had a great time! Athena’s dress is stunning, and I wish I had the guts to wear something that amazing when I was her age.

You have an incredible kid, and you seem to be a pretty incredible dad, so it works out well for the both (or rather, all three) of you!
