Kitty is awesome. 5500 words is awesome. Words will suffer edits down somewhat. Do not recommend trying to edit kitties at any time. You will suffer kitty edits.

wow 5000! i’m not the type who counts how many words i’ve written. i sit, i type, a chapter, two, a page or ten. then when i have all that was crowding my head down, i take the time to revise what i wrote, add or delete, then i move on. it’s worked so far for me, and i’ve just realized i never counted how many words i’ve written until i’m almost done. am i doing this wrong or what? because i noticed everyone are keeping tabs on their word count.

5500? Wow, good job as long as they’re not all just “All work and no play…”. Have you checked to make sure you’re not now wielding an axe and saying “Here’s Johnny!” :)

Congrats on the 5000 words.

I’m feeling chuffed myself, because I’ve done 10 minutes work on a fanfic I’ve been working on over the last few years (349 words, for the curious; I’m working up to it) and five minutes of work plotting out some original stuff. I figure I may not be doing 5000 words a day, but I’m doing more than zero, and that’s the important bit.

(The fanfic is basically at “write the first draft” stage. It’s going to be novel-length – a retelling of an existing story from the perspective of a secondary character, because it’s something which interests me – and the middle part of a series of three. I’m about 38,000 words into the whole sequence (and change) and gradually plugging along at 10 minutes a day).
